As part of this initiative, Hotelbeds has become a full member of the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC), the leading global authority in setting and managing standards for sustainable travel & tourism.

To certify over 15,000 properties as sustainable, Bedsonline has partnered with global sustainability certification companies to identify fully certified hotel properties following the criteria of the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) for hotels.

The criteria are organized around four main themes: effective sustainability planning, maximizing social and economic benefits for the local community, enhancing cultural heritage, and reducing negative impacts on the environment.

Now, when searching for hotels, you can easily spot those who are complying with the principles established by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council.

All Green Hotels will have a new icon as well as full certification details on their hotel fact page.

You can also filter your search results to show only those hotels that are part of the program.

Where can I identify the Green Hotel label?

The Green Hotel label will be identifiable in the following contexts:

• • Through a ‘Green Hotel’ hotels filter

• • In the hotel card & factsheets
