Empowering travel advisors with the tools and insights needed to meet the evolving demands for responsible travel experiences is key in today’s landscape.

This is why the HBX Group Certified Sustainable Hotels Programme, accessible to all Bedsonline+ partners as part of our interconnected travel ecosystem, has undergone a major enhancement with the integration of real-time, accredited sustainability data via BeCause, a leading sustainability data platform.

This addition not only elevates our commitment to sustainability in tourism but also enhances our travel booking engine, allowing agents to more confidently recommend sustainable accommodations, backed by verified, global standards.

Elevating Sustainable Travel with Real-Time Data

In an industry where transparency and trust are paramount, providing accurate sustainability data for travel agents is critical for success.

So, the integration with BeCause ensures that all sustainability data is continuously verified and updated in real-time.

Every hotel included in the Certified Sustainable Hotels programme holds an internationally recognised certificate, aligned with standards such as:

• Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) recognised programmes, such as the GSTC certification.

• Travalyst aligned certifications.

This means you and your clients can be safe in the knowledge that our sustainable options meet strict environmental and social responsibility criteria.

Why Improved Sustainable Travel Data Matters for Travel Advisors

Save Time with Accredited, Verified Data

Manual research about hotel sustainability can be time-consuming and often unreliable. With BeCause’s integration, our registered travel agent partners gain instant access to verified sustainability credentials directly within the booking workflow.

This means no more sifting through unverified claims or outdated information; the data on our Sustainable Hotels is accurate, transparent, and always up-to-date.

Enhance Agent-Customer Service and Boost Sales

By confidently recommending sustainable hotels with accredited sustainability certifications, such as a GSTC certification or accreditation from other verified, reputable frameworks, you position yourself as a trusted agent, differentiate your service, and increase your chances of securing bookings from today’s increasingly responsible traveller.

According to recent industry research:

• 47% of travellers suggested that a hotel’s sustainability record or proposition influences their booking choices (according to a recent survey by Minor Hotels).

• 84% of travellers worldwide believe that sustainable travel is important (as suggested by a 2025 Statista report).

• 63% of travellers do not want to spend extra time researching sustainability credentials, as recent Skift data suggests.

• Millennials and Gen Z travellers are especially driven by verified sustainable stays.

Our Certified Sustainable Hotel Programme's strict use of globally recognised, third-party verified certifications helps you to stay aligned with industry best practices while better meeting today’s traveller demands.

Reduce Greenwashing Risks & Ensure Compliance

Greenwashing—making false or misleading sustainability claims—can damage your reputation and pose legal risks.

As a result of this integration, the Bedsonline+ travel booking experience helps you stay compliant and transparent with your clients, through:

• The use of only accredited certifications.

• The avoidance of any self-reported or unverifiable claims.

• Clear differentiation between ‘certified’ and ‘noncertified’ properties.

• Reduced exposure to greenwashing risks when advising clients on where to stay.

• A portfolio that supports your ability to provide transparent, accurate information.

This transparency aligns with industry expectations and best practices around how responsible travel products are communicated to customers, especially for travel agencies in markets where consumer protections and advertising standards are strict.

When used together with real-time sustainability data, these added functionalities empower our Bedsonline+ travel agents with greater confidence in day-to-day operations when your customers request responsible travel experiences.

Capture Market Trends: Growing Demand for Responsible Travel

The travel industry is witnessing a clear shift toward sustainability: travellers increasingly want to make responsible choices and expect transparency about hotel practices. Millennials and Gen Z, in particular, are leading this movement, seeking verified sustainable travel options without added hassle.

In fact, a recent survey by Statista indicates that 77% of travellers are more likely to choose accommodations that demonstrate a commitment to sustainability.

By integrating accredited data into our marketplace, Bedsonline+ is supporting you in meeting this demand—seamlessly and reliably.
